George Moala

With his considerable athleticism and physicality, midfielder George Moala creates openings for those around him, making him an attractive squad member - but he can also make the most of opportunities for himself.

Moala burst onto the rugby scene for Auckland's Tamaki College and he then made the Auckland Under 20 squad in 2010. The following year he was in the Auckland ITM Cup side, and he earned selection in the Blues for the 2012 Investec Super Rugby season. Moala's strong form for the Blues resulted in a call up to the All Blacks to take on Samoa in the historic Test match in Apia. He missed selection in the 2015 Rugby World Cup squad but was firmly back in the All Blacks selectors calculations in 2016.

One of the fastest and strongest members of the Blues squad, Moala is versatile - he can cover wing or midfield - and has a sound rugby brain. He is an explosive runner, dangerous with ball in hand and his power makes him difficult to stop.
