The bustling Bay of Plenty centre has made the most of his chances after being called in as an injury replacement to make his debut at the Cape Town Sevens in December. He’s a powerful runner and his consistent form saw him rewarded with four appearances in the black jersey in the 2015/16 season. He stood out as a young player being a member of the World Champion New Zealand Under 20 side in 2009 and captained the Cook Islands to the same tournament the previous year. He made his provincial debut for Auckland aged just 19 in 2008. Tenacity and strength are his hallmarks so no surprises the father of three young girls cites Muhammad Ali as his hero.
