Michaela Blyde

The 20-year old Taranaki speedster found her quick feet through her intensive athletics training before taking up rugby for her provincial union. A former New Plymouth Girl's High School student, Blyde made her first appearance in the black shirt at the Oceania Sevens in Noosa while still at school. Her mother Cherry was a former Black Ferns player. Her sporting hero is Olympian rower Lisa Carrington, although she is quite keen to meet Sonny Bill Williams just to say she's met him.
